ModelRailCalc reaches people at the point where they are deciding what to buy: working out whether a locomotive will run on their curves, how much current their roster draws, or what a complete layout actually costs. That is a useful audience for a manufacturer or retailer, and we are open to working with you.
What we will do
- Correct our information about your products. This one is free and always will be. If a specification, price or description on this site misrepresents something you make, tell us and we will fix it.
- Consider your product for a roundup where it genuinely fits the category and the tier. Being considered is not being recommended.
- Use your published specifications as a source, cited as your published figures.
- Discuss sponsorship or advertising that is clearly labelled as such and separate from editorial.
What we will not do
- Sell a recommendation. Placement in a tier is decided by whether the product fits the reader's layout, not by a commercial relationship. This is the whole reason the site is worth reading.
- Claim we tested something. We do not test products in person and we never say we do. Sending us a sample does not change that, and a review here will still say it is researched from published specifications and owner-review consensus.
- Publish invented ratings, fabricated owner quotes, or specifications we cannot attribute to you.
- Remove an honest criticism of a product in exchange for anything.
How products get onto the site
Every product we link comes from the Amazon Creators API with its ASIN verified live, and its title read against the product the page claims it is. Price, image and link come straight from that data rather than being typed by hand. If your product is sold on Amazon and fits a category we cover, it is already eligible without any arrangement with us at all.
Products that are not sold on Amazon are named in prose and linked to a scoped search rather than given a false product link. If you sell direct and would like that handled differently, that is worth a conversation.
Please include what you make, the scales you support, and what you are actually proposing. Generic link-building requests and unrelated guest post pitches are not a good use of either of our time.
